Into The Wild
When I first found out about this book I initially thought that this Chris guy is a hero for going against society. But as I read a few chapters I started to dislike him and thought he should acknowledge what he may be doing to his family. I think Chris is selfish and he shouldn't of walked away from his family. Although I do have respect for people who go against society; I view Chris's rebellism as a selfish act. I also find the author's writing style boring. I feel like it's just information being thrown at me instead of the story having a real connection to me. I would describe Chris as naive. He didn't appreciate what his parents did for him and threw it all away because he thought he knew everything. The author is trying to convey that too many people conform to society. I do agree with the author on this note because I have to say that I feel the easiest way to survive in life is to conform...even though that is completely unfair. I admire Chris for not wanting to conform but he could have handled it in a better way. Chris is very much like Holden in the book, Catcher in the Rye because they both hated any kind of "the usual". Holden ran away from his school and tried living on his own in New York. Both wanted to get out of society and succeeded...or a least for awhile.

Second Review: Book
After reading the first book of the Twilight series, you would imagine that it will be twice as good as the first. Unfortunately it wasn't so in this case. The first book was about a girl, Bella who moved to Washington and discovered that vampires are real. Throughout the first book you jump into action and you feel like you are Bella. Sometimes I wish I could be Bella! She falls madly in love with a vampire, Edward. Through out the book she discovers an entirely different world filled with enemies, trackers, and mind readers. The second book of the Twilight series, however, was nothing like the first. New Moon focused on the emotional strain of being in love. I wouldn't want to be Bella because she faced heart break from her vampire sweetheart. "I felt like I was trapped in one of those terrifying nightmares..." My nightmare was just continuing this book; I didn't want to feel the same as Bella. The book was slow-paced and I forced myself to read it. I kept thinking, maybe towards the end it'll get better. Fortunately the end did have alittle excitement but no one could enjoy a book if they had to force themselves to the end.

First Review: CD
CD: Way to Normal by Ben Folds.
Ben Folds has done it again but with a more atistic and rough edge. His earlier albums show a pop side that anyone could get lost into. I feel this album is leniant on just getting his message out there. In Way to Normal he takes a risk by saying too much. Fortunately it payed off.
"So really don't you see a little of yourself
In the bathroom attendant that you just scowled at."
He takes teaching the public to an art form. These songs may not be his finest solo moment, (for example, rockin the suburbs) but these songs are addictive on a different level. He doesn't focus on just falling in love like other artists. Instead, he also focuses on just being an artist and the sheer bliss of being on the stage. To me, that is what I liked most of Ben Fold's new album because I can relate to him on a hobby that I share with him. I couldn't agree more with Folds when he said, "It’s a fairly lyric-driven rock record".

The Sit Down
Part One:
First of all, I hate talking about anything political. It only raises turmoil and people start arguing with eachother about each side. Instead of asking Obama what he plans on doing in the future, I would like to just get to know him better on a personal level. I want to be able to trust him during the next upcoming 4 years. I would ask him about how his childhood was compared to his children's life. If I am able to get to know him this way, I should be able to trust him with any big decisions he may have to face in the future.
Part Two:
1. I feel in 4 years people will be able to have a better say in things. I also think that there will be a bigger range in jobs. The only thing I can't stop thinking about is if Obama will be alright. He is sacrificing so much of himself to this country and I hope that no one will come in his way and try to stop him.
2. I feel in 2035 everything will be different. Obama is wanting to drastically change America and from now to then, there will be the process of change. And finally in 2035 people will be used to the new system or the changes that Obama wants.

Love is Like...
Love is like dandelions.
They are a weed, yes but they are different from any other weed you see. They surprise you when you wake up because they might not have been there the night before. At first you might despise them and want to pull them out...but they will always grow back. They also grow at an amazing speed, you can be surprised at how beautiful they are too. You don't even need to help them grow because they are determined to fill up your entire yard. I don't see them as a weed, as some people might think. I see them as a splash of color to your dull green yard.

My Choice
I am obssessed with Twilight. If I had the choice, I would read those books all day! I feel like every creative writing class I want to write poems about Edward (lead character).
Put out the Fire!
So you don't get so fired up. Your eyes are fired with crimson red,
as you flash your fanged teeth.
I should fire up my life, before
the gossip spreads like a forest fire.
A fire burns within my heart,
As fire burns within your throat.
This is one of my favorite poems I wrote about Edward because it shows how Bella is always tempted to give into Edward.

Dandelions (Work in Progress!)
Like snapping your fingers they pop from the ground.
Unable to pull or cut,
Their determination is profound.
Above these wicked ugly stems,
Yellow sunbursts shine like gems.
You despise them yet,
You can't help but feel recollected by there growing speed.
This beauty you found was not expected.
For their determination caught your attention.
And as feelings rise and stems grow,
more and more sunbursts will show.
