CD: Way to Normal by Ben Folds.
Ben Folds has done it again but with a more atistic and rough edge. His earlier albums show a pop side that anyone could get lost into. I feel this album is leniant on just getting his message out there. In Way to Normal he takes a risk by saying too much. Fortunately it payed off.
"So really don't you see a little of yourself
In the bathroom attendant that you just scowled at."
He takes teaching the public to an art form. These songs may not be his finest solo moment, (for example, rockin the suburbs) but these songs are addictive on a different level. He doesn't focus on just falling in love like other artists. Instead, he also focuses on just being an artist and the sheer bliss of being on the stage. To me, that is what I liked most of Ben Fold's new album because I can relate to him on a hobby that I share with him. I couldn't agree more with Folds when he said, "It’s a fairly lyric-driven rock record".
